Planning a wedding in Mallorca often looks effortless from the outside.
The sunshine, the setting, the beautiful venues… everything feels calm and relaxed.
And most of the time, it is.
But as an experienced wedding planner in Mallorca, I can tell you, every now and then, something doesn’t quite go to plan.
And this was one of those days.
A Beautiful Mallorca Church Wedding… On Paper
This was a lovely church wedding in Mallorca, with around 50 guests, the kind of wedding that works beautifully on the island.
Everything had been carefully planned.
Guests were collected and transported to the church, ready for the ceremony.
The same coaches were then due to take everyone on to the venue afterwards, a simple, smooth plan that works perfectly when timings run as they should.

On paper… Everything was perfect.
When the Wedding Morning Timeline Slips
On the morning of the wedding, however, things started to run behind.
Hair and makeup took longer than expected.
The bride had chosen to bring someone over from the UK ….which can absolutely work, but in this case, they weren’t particularly experienced with the pace and structure of a wedding morning.
And what often feels like a small delay early on…
very quickly becomes something much bigger.
Time slips quietly.
And before you realise it, you’re no longer running a little behind… you’re significantly late.
Guests had arrived at the church.
They were seated, waiting, chatting… unaware of what was unfolding behind the scenes.
Meanwhile, the ceremony time came and went.
And the bride was still getting ready.
In the end, she was over an hour late.
Now, delays do happen.
But this is where it became more complicated.
The coaches that had brought the guests to the church weren’t solely booked for this wedding. Like many wedding transport providers in Mallorca, they had multiple services scheduled that day.
Which meant they couldn’t wait.
So, quite simply…
They had to leave.
At this point, we had:
This is where experience — and local relationships — really matter when planning a destination wedding in Mallorca.
Rather than creating panic, it becomes about finding a solution.
Quickly, calmly, and without drawing attention.
I got on the phone to a transport company I work with regularly….. and here is a little shout out to them www.ultrabus.es
Thankfully, they had a vehicle nearby.
Within a short space of time, they stepped in, took on the job, and ensured that once the ceremony had taken place, every guest was able to get to the venue smoothly.
This is one of the key advantages of working with an experienced wedding planner in Mallorca they have trusted local suppliers who can step in when needed.
Yes, it meant additional cost for the couple.
And yes, the day ran later than planned.
But what mattered most…
was that it still felt right.
With an experienced catering team, we were able to gently adjust the flow of the evening, regain some of the lost time during dinner, and allow everything to fall back into place.
By the time the celebrations were in full swing, no one would have known what had happened earlier in the day.

There’s always something to take from moments like this, not in a negative way, but as a gentle reminder.
The wedding morning timeline matters more than people realise.
And working with experienced, wedding-focused suppliers, particularly for hair and makeup, can make a huge difference to how the day unfolds.
What couples often don’t see is everything that happens quietly in the background.
The small adjustments.
The quick decisions.
The solutions that come together without fuss.
Because while no wedding day is ever completely perfect behind the scenes…
It should always feel that way to you.
If you’re planning a destination wedding in Mallorca, having the right team around you makes all the difference.
Not just in creating something beautiful…
but in making sure everything flows, whatever the day brings.
And sometimes… it’s those unseen moments that matter most.
